This beautiful ornithological image by John James Audubon* has been carefully chosen from the original colour-plates in the antiquarian book, ‘The Birds of America (1827-1839)’.
These original water-colour paintings were reproduced in colour for the first time from the collection of The New-York Historical Society. We found the stunning book at auction and and fell in love.
It is considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed. Audubon identified 25 new species.
