In conversation with Kevin Dutton…

How we met?
Kevin lives locally to me in Dulwich and we met through friends. I have always admired his work so being able to show his stunning photographs at our Open House has been such an honour. As well as his unique, style of photography we particularly love the fact that his subjects are the very plants that he grows in his garden.

Charlotte Cornish. An abstract painter and printmaker.

How we met?
Annie and Anna:
We came across Charlotte’s work at the Battersea Decorative Art and Antiques Fair in 2017.
One of her mono prints jumped out at us and we were instantly keen to find out more about the Charlotte. We subsequently visited Charlotte at her studio in Cambridge and fell in love with her work.

AB Design and Interiors’ Open House 2019

Now only thirteen days to go……. the excitement is intensifying, the planning and preps is multiplying and Anna and I are feeling super with how all the months of planning is coming together, although a little yikes as there is still plenty we need to do…… and breath, we are under control says Anna calmly.

We are dying to introduce you to Diane Chaudouet…

How we met?
Annie: We found Diane through a very dear friend who is a highly regarded and knowledgeable art collector. It has been a very exciting journey connecting with Diane and we feel especially lucky to have the opportunity to show her work and our open house is the first opportunity of seeing her work in the UK.  Her beautiful images are printed onto aluminium which gives each piece another dimension as the light bounces off and the colours are reflected.

What was the trigger that got you into art?
I didn’t really get into art officially until I decided lately to show some works and share them with an audience. I didn’t describe myself as an artist. I always used material of my everyday/periods of life to make something with. It was not a premeditated production, it was more a way to be in the world.READ MORE

In conversation with Kate Wakeham…

How we met?
Annie: I met Kate in 2000 at the NEC Spring Fair. We were both in the world of publishing, designing greetings cards, wrapping paper and other gift stationery. We happily propped each other up with countless cups of coffee and bars of chocolate whilst standing for hours on end at the shows. Our paths then took us off in different directions for a few years until just recently, when I happened to come across Kate’s instagram account, and her gorgeous textiles and prints. Instantly Anna and I saw a wonderful opportunity to collaborate together. We feel that Kate’s work really connects with AB Design and Interiors’ ethos.  A super play of colour combinations, texture and pattern.
